PROJECT PLANNING
Before construction begins, our project team implements a detailed planning phase. This involves using lean scheduling to identify key project milestones and allocate resources, coordinating with various stakeholders and ensuring regulatory compliance. During the planning phase, we conduct thorough risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies, laying the foundation for a successful and well-executed project.
Cost Control
As stewards of our clients’ money, our primary objective is to provide construction solutions that achieve the maximum possible scope within a predetermined budget. Estimates are developed in real time, utilizing design documents and a combination of our experience with similar projects, historic cost data and current local market conditions. SpawGlass’ cost control philosophy is firmly rooted in our corporate policy of open book management. This transparency gives our clients full access to review all project costs at any time.
Proactive communication
As professional general contractors, we take a leadership role in promoting open communication. Our team members are proactive and knowledgeable, providing feedback and guidance to optimize expenditures, coordinate schedules and enhance safety standards.
Lean Scheduling
As a best practice, SpawGlass applies lean principles on our projects to maximize efficiency, minimize waste and accelerate project timelines. When scheduling projects, our skilled team members use lean principles to break down the measurable components of an entire project into smaller parts, which in turn keeps the workflow smooth and continuous. This results in seamless handoffs among all project partners and ensures reliable and predictable outcomes at every phase of the project. Beginning with the end in mind, SpawGlass delivers our projects more efficiently and with enhanced predictability. Lean emphasizes respect for people, true teamwork and continuous improvement – adding value for all stakeholders involved.
Self-Perform
SpawGlass delivers even greater value through our ability to self-perform critical trades. By executing fundamental scopes of work, we are able to offer greater control and set the tone and pace for each project. Self-perform work offers many benefits to the project such as schedule enhancements, budget improvement, superior quality and increased safety.
Zero-Defect Process
As part of our commitment to providing the absolute best construction experience, SpawGlass implements our Zero-Defect Process (ZDP) multifaceted quality control program on every project to ensure delivery of high-quality workmanship. This process focuses on planning and preparation. By taking a proactive approach to quality control, we are able to identify potential issues and take corrective action early in the construction process.
MEP Coordination
Buildings contain a significant amount of complex mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) systems and require extensive coordination. Our MEP coordinators play a vital role for the entire duration of a project to ensure these critical components are properly designed, installed and seamlessly integrated into a project.
From preconstruction through construction, startup, commissioning, occupancy and warranty, our MEP coordinators “think like an owner” to ensure all MEP systems are cost-effective, high-performing and sustainable. Their valuable expertise can help prevent problems and reduce risks before breaking ground to avoid costly changes and delays.
SAFETY MANAGEMENT
Safety is our first priority. Safety is a core value within SpawGlass’ corporate culture. At all levels of the company, SpawGlass maintains and practices a “Zero Today” philosophy. Our goal is to have zero incident projects, going beyond basic compliance with safety requirements to attain a safety culture at our projects where a true commitment to working safely is evident. For our team members, safety is at the forefront of everything we do.
sustainability
SpawGlass has paved the way in the world of environmental sustainability. We believe in constructing a greener tomorrow by incorporating sustainable practices into the projects we build. In addition to our membership with the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), we have been pioneers of Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), the world’s most widely used green building rating system. Beginning with the SpawGlass-Houston office, which was the first LEED certified building in Houston (LEED® Silver Certified), we have continued our dedication to minimizing environmental impact by building more than 40 LEED Certified projects all over the state of Texas. Our experienced teams include LEED accredited professionals with the knowledge and experience needed to assist you in achieving any desired level of LEED certification.
