Live Teamwork – Matias Maldonado-Valdez (South Texas)
During a historic flash flood in the Rio Grande Valley in March, Matias received a call from a team member working in Harlingen whose daughter was stranded in rising floodwater in McAllen. Without hesitation, Matias left his project site and drove to reach her. When it became clear she could not reach safety on her own, Matias guided her to his truck and out of danger.

Be Passionate – Chance Pitts (San Antonio)
When our team member, Rudy Garza, was reported missing during the June 12 flooding in San Antonio, Chance responded without hesitation. After learning Rudy hadn’t arrived at work and had last called his family from a flooded area, Chance immediately went out to search. He located Rudy’s vehicle, which had been swept away by the water, and returned the next day to assist authorities in their continued search efforts. Tragically, Rudy had not survived. Chance’s determination and deep care for his team member exemplify what it means to be passionate. Rudy’s family shared that they will forever be grateful to Chance for doing everything he could during such a heartbreaking time.

Think Like an Owner – Michelle Trevino and Alma Fabian (Team Member Resources)
When a team member whose wife had just been released from the hospital inquired about how to purchase a wheelchair for her and where to look, Michelle and Alma took personal initiative. They purchased the wheelchair on their own and quietly provided it to the family without seeking recognition. The team member was incredibly appreciative and shared the story of Michelle and Alma’s kind gesture with others.
