The SpawGlass-North Texas/UTD team continues to make progress on the new Student Success Center + Student Union, pouring the concrete basement walls section by section, installing underground plumbing and digging the pit for the building’s elevator shaft.

 

The construction of support piers—vertical structures that help distribute the weight of the building to the foundation—will be complete.

Additionally, concrete has been poured for the first shear wall in the basement. A shear wall is a critical structural element designed to provide stability against lateral forces, such as high winds or seismic activity, helping ensure the building remains safe during these events.
