Construction Update 09/11/2024

Owner: The University of Texas at Dallas
Owner’s Representative: Project Control
Architect: Perkins + Will

Exciting progress update for our SpawGlass-North Texas/UTD team: over the weekend, we successfully erected the tower cranes that will remain in place for the duration of the construction process! The foundations for the cranes’ bases were prepared with reinforced concrete before the masts were assembled section by section. Mobile cranes were used to position the jibs, and counterweights were added to ensure proper balance. Every step of the process was conducted with a focus on safety and attention to detail, allowing the cranes to reach their full operational height. Now standing tall, the tower cranes proudly display the SpawGlass name and logo. Serving as both a symbol of our dedication and an essential operational tool, the cranes are a key component in driving the progress of this project and enabling us to provide the absolute best construction experience.

As the end of the summer season marches on, we have finished building the retention system for the building’s service tunnel, started pouring concrete for the support beams, and are now preparing for underground rough-in for the structure’s mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.

Stay tuned and follow along as we continue to share our progress!
