SpawGlass to Cast for a Cause at 21st Annual Bay Fishing Tournament on South Padre Island
SOUTH PADRE ISLAND, Texas – SpawGlass clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and employee owners will trade hard hats for fishing rods Sept. 17-18 for the 21st Annual SpawGlass Bay Fishing Tournament at Louie’s Backyard on South Padre Island.
For more than two decades, the annual tournament has brought members of the construction industry together for camaraderie, competition, and a shared commitment to giving back to South Texas communities.
Proceeds from this year’s event will benefit organizations supporting higher education, conservation and community needs, including The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, Friends of RGV Reef, Walk for Women, Texas State Technical College, Texas Parks & Wildlife Foundation, and Texas A&M University’s Department of Construction Science.
“For 21 years, this tournament has given us an opportunity to strengthen the relationships that are so important to our industry while investing in organizations that are making a meaningful difference across South Texas,” said David Ajlani, LEED AP, president of SpawGlass’ South Texas Region. “Whether we’re supporting the next generation of construction professionals, helping students pursue an education, caring for our neighbors or protecting the coastal resources that make this region special, this event reflects our commitment to building flourishing communities.”
The two-day event begins Thursday, Sept. 17, with the Captain’s Party at Louie’s Backyard. Participants will gather for food, drinks, music, games, and an auction before taking to the water early Friday morning.
