SpawGlass Takes Aim at Giving Back at 9th Annual North Texas Sporting Clays Shoot

The annual event brings construction industry partners together to benefit Cook Children's and scholarships for veterans attending Texas State Technical College.

Fort Worth, Texas (Oct. 23, 2026) — SpawGlass North Texas clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers and employee owners will take aim for a good cause Friday, Oct. 23, at the 9th Annual SpawGlass North Texas Sporting Clays Shoot at Defender Outdoors Clay Sports Ranch in Joshua.

For nearly a decade, the annual event has brought members of the construction industry together for camaraderie, competition, and a shared commitment to giving back to the North Texas community.

Since 2018, SpawGlass has donated proceeds from the Sporting Clays Shoot to Cook Children’s Hyperinsulinism Center, totaling $275,000 to date, to support its specialized care for children with congenital hyperinsulinism (CHI).

“For nine years, this event has shown what can happen when our industry comes together around a shared purpose,” said Lloyd Faver, president of SpawGlass’ North Texas Region. “Our clients, partners, and employee owners have helped us contribute $275,000 to Cook Children’s, and this year we’re proud to expand that impact, in conjunction with First Command, by also investing in veterans pursuing technical education at Texas State Technical College. It’s about supporting people and organizations that make North Texas stronger.”

One of the first programs of its kind in the nation, Cook Children’s Hyperinsulinism Center uses a specialized team approach to diagnose and treat CHI, a rare condition in which the pancreas produces excessive amounts of insulin. Children are cared for by a multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, researchers, and specialists dedicated to the condition.

“Through your generosity, your company and employees continue to inspire us to do our best to care for children with rare disorders both here in Fort Worth and from all over the country. Thank you for trusting us with your hard-earned treasure, and we look forward to collaborating for years to come.” Paul Thornton, M.D., Division Chief, Endocrine and Diabetes Program.

New for 2026, a portion of the tournament proceeds will benefit the First Command Education Foundation/SpawGlass Veterans Endowed Scholarship, supporting veteran students enrolled at Texas State Technical College (TSTC) North Texas.

Established in partnership with First Command, a financial services company serving military families, the scholarship will provide financial assistance to veterans pursuing technical education and training. The initiative aims to ease the transition from military service to civilian employment while preparing veterans for rewarding careers in Texas’ skilled workforce.
