In the Pilot's Seat of Aviation Construction

Summer travel season is in full swing, and airports across Texas are buzzing with activity. With packed terminals and full flight schedules, a smooth, efficient airport experience matters more than ever. At SpawGlass, we’re helping shape that experience by assisting our clients in building and renovating airport spaces that not only meet technical demands but also enhance comfort, safety and flow for travelers.

At Corpus Christi International Airport (CCIA), our team recently completed a series of phased upgrades to the active terminal. The work included replacing mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) systems, re-roofing portions of the building, renovating restrooms and adding a second-level patio area. To avoid disrupting day-to-day airport operations, the team built a secure access point separate from TSA-controlled areas, allowing work to take place without affecting passenger flow. Much of the renovation in occupied areas, such as utility shutdowns and noisy activities, was performed overnight to ensure little to no impact on the traveler experience. This approach led to a cleaner and safer terminal environment and a project delivered with zero delays to flight schedules.

This project is just one example of our experience delivering aviation projects that meet the unique demands of secure, high-traffic environments. From terminal renovations and expansions to airside infrastructure and runway work, our aviation construction experts execute complex scopes while maintaining strict security compliance and uninterrupted operations. Teams coordinate closely with airport staff, adjust work hours around flight schedules and go the extra mile to minimize the impact of construction.

It’s all part of our commitment to providing the absolute best construction experience — for our clients, our trade partners and the communities we serve.
